About the play

On the rooftop of a building, under the quiet moonlight, a girl named Vera counts the stars every night and dreams of distant worlds. One evening, as the city drifts to sleep, the Knight of the Moon appears before her — an unusual and slightly clumsy hero, but with a pure and brave heart. He brings important news: a little Star has gone missing. Without her, the constellations scatter, the universe loses its order, and the sky slowly goes dark.

To bring the lost Star back, Vera and the Knight set off on a quest. Along the way they are joined by the playful Astra — guardian of all the constellations, wrapped in comet tails.

They soon discover that behind all this turmoil stands the Count of the Night, the gray-bearded Mrakoslav — a wizard who wants to extinguish the glow of the stars and the Moon forever, so that the night belongs to him alone.

Together — Vera, the Knight, Astra, the little Star, and two unusual Shadows — they set out on a wondrous journey through meteor caves, labyrinths of oblivion, and whirlpools of time. Along the way they meet comic mishaps and tender moments, through which they discover the power of friendship and courage. Before the audience unfold scenes of the play of light and dark, unexpected encounters, laughter, and touching moments. The children become part of the adventure — whispering answers to riddles, uncovering the schemes of Count Mrakoslav, and helping the little Star shine again and find her way home.

“Vera and the Knight of the Moon” is a poetic, interactive, and visually rich play for children and adults. It nurtures imagination, empathy, and a sense of togetherness, reminding us that the real wonder lies in the time and attention we give to ourselves and to others. Light, the play reveals, is not only what shines in the sky, but also what we recognize within ourselves and share with one another. And when we do — it grows, spreads, and lights up the world around us, turning even the darkest moments into a space for play, love, and friendship.

Every performance is unique, because the audience becomes part of the story. That is why “Vera and the Knight of the Moon” is not just a play — it is an invitation to a shared journey, to play, and to discovering the light within.
